Nazi Germany During World War I - 924 Words
After World War I, Adolf Hitler formed the Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda after his rise to power in Germany. Hitler selected Dr. Joseph Goebbels as the head of the Reich Ministry to promote propaganda. ââ¬Å"The Fà ¼hrer or Mr. Hitler explained in his book Mein Kampf why propaganda should be used to control the populace and how it had been a useful weapon for the allies during World War I. Hitler continued by criticizing the German leadership for failing to use propaganda in any meaningful way during the war, and described how the new regime could use it to its fullest power.â⬠(Stout) Many historians believe that propaganda was Hitlerââ¬â¢s most powerful weapon employed by Nazi Germany during World War II. The Financial Crisis Of 2007-08 - 1439 Words
Several factors lead to the 2008 financial crisis. The 1999 repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act effectively removed the separation between investment banks and depository banks in the United States. Credit rating agencies failed to price the risk involved with mortgage-related financial products accurately. The Government, concerned with not performing economically as well as the Clinton administration believed increasing home ownership was the answer and reduced obstacles (like loan income/debt documentation). The world s insurance companies began insuring mortgage instruments. Excessive investment leverage, especially in the Banks and venture capitalist communities. And the Government did not adjust their regulatory practices to address 21st-century financial markets- especially in credit default swaps (CDS). These factors set the stage for disaster and greedy speculators wanting to short the housing market triggered it by systematically exposing the mortgage risks to the world. The financial crisis of 2007ââ¬â08, also known as the Global Financial Crisis, is considered by many economists to have been the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Mr. Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve at the time, believed it was equally problematic in many ways; although unemployment only reached half the level due to the Fedââ¬â¢s actions combined with a $700B stimulus. We will write a custom essay sample on Gm588 Final Project Proposal Outline or any similar topic only for you Order Now Genesis Healthcare is a leading provider of short term healthcare services which includes: rehabilitation, dialysis, skill nursing and sometimes long term care. The company operates over two hundred centers within thirteen eastern states in the United States. Genesis also supplies rehabilitation therapy to over one thousand one hundred health care providers within twenty eight states and the District of Columbia. Quality management in Genesis is very well encouraged because they are involved in an industry that caters to the needs and lives of people. According to their values quality and care should be given to touch and improve the lives of others. 4. I currently work for Genesis, at the Washington DC location. This location has a bad reputation due to an incident that occurs years ago because the quality in service was breached. However, at the time the situation happen the facility was under a different management that had no affiliations with Genesis but people still have that bad notion of the company. I feel as though the only way we can change the perception of these people is by enhancing the quality in the services we provide. 5. After I joined Genesis about a year ago along with our new management team, we have changed everything and made lots of progress. Our greatest opportunity was getting our surroundings involve so that they could then witness the improvement that were being made. Renovation of the building was first done since it was an opportunity to attract the general public. Weekly surveys were also put in place so that residence could give feedback on a daily bases to show the company and its new management improvements. 6. In order for Genesis to continue its growth, I believe the best quality management tool to follow would be the six stigma. Genesis already completed the first step of the stigma method which is defining the problem. They realize that quality was breached so they are working on enhancing and improving quality for their customers. The second step is measuring the quality and to do that, Genesis has a weekly survey system that generates the effectiveness of the quality being given and those responses is how quality is measured. Genesis is constantly utilizing the third method of the six stigmas which is improving quality. They encourage and task their employees on a daily basis to provide great service. They also train their employees to be successful in promoting quality. The analyzation of quality is a task Genesis has mastered because they have sought out the needs of their customers, which help determine the kind of quality service needed. Improving is the aspect Genesis is putting most of their efforts into because any entity existing in our world must have the desire to grow and the only way to achieve that goal is through improvement. Control is definitely an aspect of the stigma that genesis have a good grip on because they have come up with ways to accomplish their quality management goals and how they can control the quality they intend to give. 7. TCO A, C, D and I all relates well to my project because they all talk about the importance of quality management and some of the philosophies to follow when enforcing quality. As a person, I believe that the best way an organization can grow is based on quality because people will fund something if they are satisfied with it. I also am a huge fan of the six stigmas because I have used it several times and its yielded positive results. 8. Sources 1. Evans, J. , Lindsay, W. (2011). Tennesee Williams Essays - English-language Films,
Tennesee Williams Tennessee Williams (1911 ? 1983) Thomas Lanier Williams was born on March 26, 1911 in Columbus, Mississippi. The second of three children, his family life was full of tension. His parents, a shoe salesman and the daughter of a minister, often engaged in violent arguments that frightened his sister Rose. In 1927, Williams got his first taste of literary fame when he took third place in a national essay contest sponsored by The Smart Set magazine. In 1929, he was admitted to the University of Missouri where he saw a production of Henrik Ibsen's Ghosts and decided to become a playwright. But his degree was interrupted when his father forced him to withdraw from college and work at the International Shoe Company. There he worked with a young man named Stanley Kowalski who would later resurface as a character in A Streetcar Named Desire. Eventually, Tom returned to school. In 1937, he had two of his plays (Candles to the Sun and The Fugitive Kind) produced by Mummers of St. Louis, and in 1938, he graduated from the University of Iowa. After failing to find work in Chicago, he moved to New Orleans and changed his name from Tom to Tennessee which was the state of his father's birth. In 1939, the young playwright received a $1,000 Rockefeller Grant, and a year later, Battle of Angels was produced in Boston. In 1944, what many consider to be his best play, The Glass Menagerie, had a very successful run in Chicago and a year later burst its way onto Broadway. The play tells the story of Tom, his disabled sister, Laura, and their controlling mother Amanda who tries to make a match between Laura and the gentleman caller. Many people believe that Tennessee used his own familial relationships as inspiration for the play. His own mother, who is often compared to the controlling Amanda, allowed doctors to perform a frontal lobotomy on Tennessee's sister Rose, an event that greatly disturbed Williams who cared for Rose throughout much of her adult life. Elia Kazan (who directed many of Williams' greatests successes) said of Tennessee: Everything in his life is in his plays, and everything in his plays is in his life. The Glass Menagerie won the New York Drama Critics' Cir cle Award for best play of the season. Williams followed up his first major critical success with several other Broadway hits including such plays as A Streetcar Named Desire, Summer and Smoke, A Rose Tattoo, and Camino Real. He received his first Pulitzer Prize in 1948 for A Streetcar Named Desire, and reached an even larger world-wide audience in 1950 and 1951 when The Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named Desire were made into major motion pictures. Later plays which were also made into motion pictures include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (for which he earned a second Pulitzer Prize in 1955), Orpheus Descending, and Night of the Iguana. Tennessee Williams met and fell in love with Frank Merlo in 1947 while living in New Orleans. Merlo, a second generation Sicilian American who had served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, was a steadying influence in Williams' chaotic life. But in 1961, Merlo died of Lung Cancer and the playwright went into a deep depression that lasted for ten years. In fact, Williams struggled with depression throughout most of his life and lived with the constant fear that he would go insane as did his sister Rose. For much of this period, he battled addictions to prescription drugs and alcohol. On February 24, 1983, Tennessee Williams choked to death on a bottle cap at his New York City residence at the Hotel Elysee. He is buried in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to twenty-five full length plays, Williams produced dozens of short plays and screenplays, two novels, a novella, sixty short stories, over one-hundred poems and an autobiography. Among his many awards, he won two Pulitzer Prizes and four New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards. Book Reports

Start with your mission statement.Step Two: Conduct a SWOT, 5Cââ¬â¢s or PEST Analysis The next step in creating your marketing process is running an analysis for your marketers. You have three options to choose from: A SWOT analysis.à These analysesà run through the internal and external strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that your organization faces. The 5Cââ¬â¢s analysis.à The 5Cââ¬â¢s analyses focus on the company, collaborators, customers, competitors, and climate of your marketing. A PEST Analysis.à The PEST analysis focuses on more environmental factors like politics, the environment, social climate, and technology. Here are three types of competitive analyses to consider when documenting the #marketing process.Conducting a SWOT Analysis A SWOT analysisà a relatively straightforward process. As a team, you will need to identify the internal strengths and weaknesses of your organization. To find your strengthsà answer questions like: What does our organization do well? What processes do we have in place that help us stay efficient? What do we currently do that is a unique strength of our organization? To find your weaknessesà answer questions like: What could we improve in our organization? What is causing a constant roadblock to our progress? What are we currently doing in our marketing process that could use improvement? Each of these questions should address the internal factors that are helping or hindering the success of your marketing. The second part of the SWOT analysis is going to focus on the opportunities and threats that affect your marketing outside of your organization. To analyze the opportunitiesà outside your organization answer the following: What are we currently doing in our marketing that is fulfilling our mission statement or goals that have been set for our team? What is going on in the current market that we can use as an opportunity? What is changing in our industry that we could take advantage of right now? Once youââ¬â¢ve found opportunities to expand your marketing, analysis the threatsà that may impede your success. Answer the following questions: What are our competitors doing better than us? Are there changes in our industry that could threaten our efforts? Is there anything going on politically, economically, or socially that could hinder our marketing efforts? If running a SWOT analysis is something your marketing team wants, use the analysis template that you downloaded earlier in your marketing process strategy bundle. This is how to run a SWOT analysis. How To Run A 5Cââ¬â¢s Analysis Another analysis that your marketing teamà can choose to run is a 5Cââ¬â¢s analysis that focuses on your: Company. Collaborators. Competitors. Climate. Customers. For this analysis, answer the following questions and record them in the 5C analysis template. Company Question Examples: What marketing strategies are we employing that are making a positive impact? What strategies are we using that arenââ¬â¢t making an impact on our audience? What roadblocks are continually recurring that hinder our marketing process? Collaborator Question Examples: Who are we working with that is having a positive impact on our marketing efforts? Who is up and coming in our industry that we could partner with? What relationships arenââ¬â¢t having the same effect that they used to? Competitors Question Examples: Who are our most significant competitors? What are they doing that we currently arenââ¬â¢t? What tactics seems to resonant with their audience? Climate Question Examples: Is there anything happening in our industry that would affect our marketing tactics? Are their new best practices in our industry? Is our industry growing or shrinking? Customer Question Examples: What tactics are resonating with our audience? What have they come to expect from us? Is there anything we can be doing to increase the loyalty to our brand? Fill in your analysis in the marketing process template. This is how to run a 5 C's analysis.Running a PEST Analysis No, this isnââ¬â¢t about potential bugs in the office. A PEST analysis involvesà looking at the political, economic, social, and technological factors that may affect your organization. To run a PEST analysis, record answers to the following questions. Political Climate Questions: Are there any upcoming elections that could affect the way our product is used or made? Could any upcoming legislation affect the way our organization conducts its business? If there is an upcoming legislation change that affects your organization, how quickly will that take effect? Economic Climate Questions: What is the current outlook for the economy? If you do business with foreign countries, what does the current exchange rate look like? How much are our target audience members spending on products or services we sell? Social Climate Questions: Are there any social movements that our company should be addressing? How does the upcoming generation of buyers feel about our product? Is there any social faux-pas arising that could affect how people view our business? Technological Climate Questions: Are there any new tech tools that could help us do our jobs better? Are there any new tech advancements in our industry that we could bring to our customers? If new technology is coming to our industry, how quickly will it make an appearance? Record your answers in the PEST analysis template you downloaded earlier. Here's how to run a PEST analysis.Step Three: Creating Your Marketing Strategy Now that you have a full analysis of your organizationà and your industry, you can begin to shape your marketing strategy. Define Your Target Audience To start creating your strategy, you need to define who your target audience is. à Your target audience is: ââ¬Å"The ideal customer you want to attract to your product or service through your marketing efforts.â⬠To start finding your target audience ask your marketers the following: Who is already a part of our existing audience? Who responds best to our efforts? Why do people use our product or service? What type of problem do they experience? As you begin to format the answers to those questions, youââ¬â¢ll create a target audience statement which could look something like: ââ¬Å"[Target Demographic] experiences [problem] which is leading them to interact with our organization and use our services.â⬠Read moreà about how to develop your target audienceà and marketing persona. Documenting your marketing strategy? Don't forget your target audience.Creating Marketing Goals The next step in formatting your marketing strategy is to develop a series of marketing goals that connect back to the business goals that were mentioned earlier. Your marketing goals should be S.M.A.R.T. This means they should be: Specific.à You should know exactly what you'd like to accomplish. Measureable.à If you can't measure it, it's not useful. Attainable.à Stretch yourself, but avoid setting yourself up for failure. Relevant.à Your marketing goals should be connected to clear business outcomes. Time-based.à Give yourself a deadline by which you'll achieve your goal. For example, if we were to go back to the overarching goal for the mattress company which was to sell mattress your marketing goals would want to help contribute to that goal. A possible marketing goal for this example would be: ââ¬Å"Increase the website referral traffic coming from social media channels by 25% in the next quarter.â⬠You can set as many goals as you need to complete each marketing project. Learn how to set your goals. Every documented #marketing strategy should include clear goals.Remember, the most important thing with your marketing goals is that they are tied to wider business objectives. Ensuring Your Marketing Goals Contribute to the Bottomline Let's say your overarching business goal is to have 20 million in revenue by 2020. In order to increase revenue, you have to increase sales. In order to increase sales, you've got to increase leads coming into the marketing funnel. This is where you come in. You've identified that you need to bring in 1,000 leads per month. Working back from there helps you identify the one lead metric to focus on. Your website is the largest lead generator, so to increase the number of leads, you've got to increase traffic. Say you get 5,000 website visitors each month; is it possible to convert 20 percent of them? Likely not. In reality, a 2-5 percent conversion rate is more accurate. To hit your goal of 1,000 leads, you need between 20,000 and 50,000 website visitors. Now you've found the one metric to focus on. Every activity you do should focus on increasing the volume of website visitors from 5,000 to 20,000 (to hit a 5 percent conversion rate). Set A Budget The last step in your marketing strategy is setting a budget up. Your budget will determine what resources and strategies you use throughout the year. There are four ways you can set a budget for the year: Percent of Revenue.à This is where the revenue that your organization brings in determines what your budget will be. Top-Down.à This is where your CMO or boss decides what your marketing team will spend. Competition Matching.à This type of budget is based on trying to reverse engineer what your competitors are doing. Goal Driven.à This type of budget is based on the goals that you have set for the year. The amount you spend on each project will depend on the kind of goal you need to reach. Learn more about creating a marketing budget, with ourà marketing strategy guide. Have questions about working budget into your marketing strategy? We have answers.Step Four: Building Your Marketing Mix The next step in your marketing process is going to be buildingà your marketing mix. According to The Economic Times: ââ¬Å"The marketing mix refers to the set of actions, or tactics, that a company uses to promote its brand or product in the market.â⬠This is usually broken down into the four Pââ¬â¢s: Product, Price, Promotion, and Place. Product.à The product of your marketing mix is going to refer to how the thing that your company is selling is produced. It includes things like branding, packaging, quality of the product, features and more. Price.à Price in a marketing mix refers to how much your product or service costs. It also includes things like the discounts your company may offer, and itââ¬â¢s perceived value. Promotion.à Promotion is how your organization sells the product to your target audience. This includes things like advertising channels, public relations, sales and publicity efforts that sell your product. Place. Place refers to where your product or service is produced. This could involve distribution channels, outlet locations, how your product is transported and stored. Check out this SlideShare on how to build a marketing mix: As you continue to develop your mix, record it in the 4Pââ¬â¢s spreadsheet that was in your downloaded strategy kit. What does your #marketing mix look like?Step Five: Execution The next part of your marketing process is determining how to use it when you execute your projects. Here is how each part of your marketing execution can be used. Target Marketing Process Target marketing involves breaking down your target audience into smaller segments and sending those segments messages to move them further down the marketing funnel. Here are some ways you can segment your audience: By demographic. By location. By lifestyle or income level. By behavior (hobbies, interests, shopping habits, etc). After you have your segments drawn up your marketing process should look something like this:

"The terrible Transformation" - Essay Example The main contestants were the African Americans and the Europeans who had travelled to Africa in search for gold but initiated slave trade. The Terrible Transformation covers the earliest transformation of Free states into slave states including the process which initiated when servants became slaves for being black. The years presented in this documentary were 1450-1750; the years which brought the terrible transformation in the North American continent due to the European settlers (Bellows, 1998). Their world was largely destroyed and transformed by the European explorers who took over their land and wealth as well as began the slave trade by brining several Africans into America. This was the beginning of the slave trade which entered America and changed the whole social and economic system. It transformed the system from a free colony to a state where the colour of skin decided whether a person would be a free citizen or would be enslaved for life. Europeans took their position in the conflict as they entered Africa seeking gold. The trade was first focused on gold but ended up on humans. European settlers were travelling and colonizing the world, and as they entered Africa their focus shifted on human trade instead of gold. These Africans were basically needed for the plantations in America. They were held captives by the Europeans and when they reached America, they were given no respect or rights and the torture continued. The shift of the Europeans had eventually changed from having non-Christian labourers to non-white labourers (Bellows, 1998). The Europeans took this position in the conflict in order to expand their colonies and rule throughout. Africans took the position in the conflict because they were brought for gold and eventually ended up being tortured and forced into slavery. The effect of this practice of slave trade changed the
